PIONEER+ Strengthens Collaboration Through First Physical Meeting, Leadership Workshop, and Online Training Launch

The PIONEER+ consortium continues to advance its mission of fostering innovation and entrepreneurship within higher education institutions across Europe. On 16 October 2025, project partners gathered in person for the first physical consortium meeting at the Ionian University (Greece). This event marked an important milestone, providing an opportunity to align strategies, exchange insights, and strengthen collaboration among partners committed to building more entrepreneurial and digitally capable HEIs. The following day, 17 October 2025, the first of five HEI Leadership Engagement Workshops took place, where HEI partners presented the results of their HEInnovate self-assessment reports to their top management. The workshop sparked valuable dialogue around institutional development and innovation-driven leadership within higher education.

Launch of Online Training Seminars on Digital Entrepreneurship Coordinated by Lazarski University, the online training program begins on 31 October and runs until 28 November 2025. The first module introduces participants to key aspects of the digital economy, including:

• Digital infrastructure and e-commerce fundamentals

• The role of big data in business

• Creating impact in e-business

The online program is designed to enhance digital skills and promote collaboration through expert-led sessions that bring together academia, industry, and policymakers — the core of the Knowledge Triangle. Participants will gain both theoretical insights and practical experience through lectures, projects, and mentoring activities.

Creating Lasting, European Wide Impact PIONEER+ is funded by the European Union through the EIT HEI Initiative, with activities tailored towards lasting transformation. Through five key domains, institutional change, partnership strengthening, venture creation, educational quality enhancement, and 2 knowledge sharing, the project ensures its impact extends far beyond campus walls into society and industry.

By empowering HEIs to become innovation champions, especially in digital entrepreneurship and AI management, PIONEER+ supports Europe’s broader goals of sustainability, competitiveness, and inclusive growth
